The Spirit of the Words

Throughout time mankind has argued and even fought over the scriptures, the words of God that have been delivered through people. When one reads with the analytical, scrutinizing mind there will be differences. The languages we deal with are not perfect. Words have multiple meaning in every language. Plus people have also attached their own perceptions and emotions and experiences which also give further internal meaning to the words. To give example, for children who have been hit by their parents who have said it was because they love them will have a different attachment to the word 'love' than children who were pampered by those in their lives.

Nevertheless, the scriptures have endured throughout many ages and continue to inspire and guide people. These words still continue to draw people to God. Why? Because of the spirit in the words. The message inside and beyond the actual words and definitions themselves conveys what God is saying to all.

Even with these books, when read and inspected for the structure of the sentences and examined for definitions from the words and read with critical eye alone, could cause differences, dispute, argument and division. If one balks at the method of delivering the message and refuses to believe that God would speak again by revelation to a person in this manner, then the spirit and beautiful message will not be heard and received. Only by reading for the spirit of the words, by prayer and asking what God has in mind to inspire and expand the readers understanding, can this book be of value as is intended.
